The area of the “Picos de Europa” is the awe-inspiring , natural setting that is home to this small and charming hotel : Casona d’Alevia, stands out as a hotel “d’auteur” thanks to its owners careful restoration work. The owners of this 15th century farmhouse have transformed it into a hotel with 9 bedrooms whilst conserving its original structure, materials (stone and chestnut), spaces, windows, doors and ceilings. All the bedrooms are distinct, and are located on three floors, with the upper ones being attic rooms and three are special in category. The hotel has been decorated in a emotive, aesthetic way in a craftsmanlike spirit, paying attention to every detail, taking pleasure in memories and delighting the senses. Every corner has its own particular significance, usefulness and character. On the ground floor, in the reception area, are exhibitions of “Padres de Marilupe” everyday instruments e.g. chestnut hampers, a working bench, planes and axes. Hand crochet curtains and lace adorn the windows, tables and lamps. It is not easy to describe the bedrooms, fragant and personal, spacious and convenient, blessed by the comfort bestowed on them by their modern latex mattresses, 100 pour cent woollen blankets and top quality bed linen. In short, a delight for the senses.

Alevia is a charming hamlet situated in a quaint corner of Asturias, 3 km of Panes, faithful exponent of traditional and “Indiano” architecture in a strategic spot offering awe-inspiring views of the “Picos de Europa”, Cares-Deva Valley and of “La Hermida Gorge”. From “Paisanu Peak” you can enjoy the indescribable panorama where the sea meets the Picos de Europa (Naranjo de Bulnes) and the Cares Valley. Canoeing trips down the River Cares-Deva, pony trekking and quads can all be arranged from the hotel.
