HOTEL DESCRIPTION
Built in the mid-19th century by Obdulio Fernández Pando, founder of the cider company Sidra El Gaitero after his return from America, La Casona -which corresponds to the style of Indiano houses- was a pioneer in rural tourism in the Principality. Isabel runs this welcoming hotel with its splendid French garden occupying almost a hectare and full of century-old wisterias, sequoias, lindens, fir trees, etc.
ROOMS
Its 9 bedrooms and communal spaces such as the lounge-library and the dining room are decorated with antiques, etchings of Asturian Pre-Romanesque and beautiful 18th-century chests that harmonize with the peaceful atmosphere to be breathed in the mansion. The bed linen and that of the bathroom is made from natural fabrics; cotton and linen curtains, bedspreads and table cloths adorn the rooms. The lounge has several sitting areas, with a well-stocked library and fireplace. On the gallery, wickerwork tables and chairs await those guests who wish to enjoy the views of the garden. The porches are an invitation to chat or read, and those who prefer a walk may stroll around the spacious grounds and garden along the paths which lead down to the river bordering the extensive estate.
