HOTEL DESCRIPTION

The hotel building is an outstanding Spanish-Colonial style, built in 1922 by the famous architect Don Manuel del Busto, commissioned by Don Antonio Álvarez Nava, whose coat of arms is emblazoned on the façade. It was brought from the manor house, now in ruins, that this family possessed in Nava.
Entirely restored by Alfredo and Dora, the current owners, the hotel was opened in November 2003, and conserves all its period charm, though with all the facilities and comforts required by the modern traveller.
Located in Villamayor, the hotel stands in a large private grounds with a beautiful French-style garden. It boasts –among its numerous services- an a la carte restaurant on the ground floor, with a patio that opens onto the valley of the River Piloña (customers only), serving a wide selection of the best seasonal Asturian fresh produce, including game such as deer or wild boar (in the hunting season only), while not forgetting the succulent home-baked breakfast.

ROOMS

The hotel has nine charming bedrooms, each named after an Asturian King, which are both warm and bright thanks to their balconies and galleries, tastefully furnished in pastel shades and with fine wood furniture.
There are four double standard rooms, two double superior rooms, two suites with a convertible double or single beds together with a hydromassage and the most luxorious suite, King Pelayo Suite, which is on two floors: downstairs there is a comfortable slanted ceiling living-room and a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi. The bedroom is on the upper floor within the turret, affording the visitor a beautiful view of the surrounding area.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO

Palacete Real Hotel is strategically located half way between the sea and the mountains and it is an ideal starting point to visit the most emblematic places in Eastern Asturias:
·Oviedo, the capital of the Principality is a must for everybody. One should not leave without visiting its Cathedral and its pre-romanesque historical buildins: the eighth-and ninth-century Santa María del Naranco, San Miguel de Lillo, San Julián de los Prados.
·Villamayor: Santa Maria Church apse.
·Infiesto: interesting collection of raised granary in Espinareu, hill walking through new, heavenly like places as El Barranco del Infierno, horse routes, quad and 4x4 driving, slope down to the rivers by canoe, bycicle renting, paintball, potholing, golf, hunting, fishing in the Piloña River.
·Nava: Cider Museum.
·Villaviciosa: one can visit nearby San Salvador de Valdediós, a former monastery.
·Ancient cave paintings: Tito Bustillo (Ribadesella), el Buxu (Cangas de Onís) or el Pindal (Ribadedeva).
·Covadonga: Santina de Covadonga, Saint Cave, basílica, ascent to the lakes, viewpoint of El Fitu, national parks like Redes or Picos de Europa.
·Colunga: MUJA Jurasic Asturias Museum.
·Marine villages: Lastres or Tazones, being the latter an important whaling port with beaches and coes to discover.
